This year’s 4-H Day Camp will be held the week of June 21-25 at the 4-H Ed Center in Front Royal.
The cost of the camp has not increased from last year; it is still $50 for the week. Campers must be 6 to 13 years old and will spend a week singing camp songs, learning various skills at our camp workshops (including rocketry, basket-making, arts and crafts, creeks and critters, sports and cooking), swimming each day, participating in afternoon activities and coming home each evening happy and tired.
Campers are provided with bus transportation to and from our 4-H Day Camp, as well as daily camp snacks, program supplies and a camp T-shirt.
Those 13 to 18 can be camp counselors (counselors must be 13 as of Jan. 1, 2010). First- year counselors are called Counselors-in-Training (CITs). All potential CITs and counselors must complete an application and interview with the 4-H coordinator before being hired, and must participate in a day of training prior to camp. Counselors do not have to pay to attend the 4-H Day Camp.
Registration for the 4-H Day Camp began Monday. Please call the Rappahannock County Extension office at 540-675-3619 to receive a registration application.
