On Monday, April 5 the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors meets at a 2 p. m., at the Rappahannock County courthouse on Gay street. There will be no 7 p.m. meeting. Agenda highlights include: school budget FY11; VDOT organizational structure changes and six-year road plan; business, arts, cultural, tourism zones; tax increment financing; Jordan and Hughes Scenic River; maximum speed of 35 mph on unpaved roads; board budgetary policy issues; facilities assessment report from SRP, Inc.; consolidation of county facility services; fire and rescue needs assessment; polling placefor Stonewall-Hawthorn District; survey results of twice annual real estate tax collection; set school and county budget hearing date (7 p.m. April 26); consideration of extending deadline for land use applications; March building permit report; Rappahannock African-American Heritage Center at Scrabble School opening on May 1.
The Town of Washington solicits letters of interest to fill a vacancy on both the Town of Washington’s Architectural Review Board and the Planning Commission. Residency within the Town is required.
Letters of interest must be received at the Town office by delivery at 485 Gay St., Washington, by mail to Box 7, Washington, VA 22747 or by fax to 540-675-1742 by no later than 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 7.
