At Local Flavor’s first-ever “Meet Your Farmer” open house Saturday at the farm buyer’s club’s Amissville storehouse, some 250 local farmers, customers and others showed up to meet, greet and otherwise connect. Among the suppliers, farmers and friends (who brought quiches, cheeses, chutney, fresh-picked spinach and asparagus, fried chicken, brats, burgers, herbal teas, coffees, pastries and more) were, from left: Brooke Parkhurst of Triple Oak Bakery; James Bagley and Charles Annaud of Main Street Bakery; Lois Aylestock, Blue Ridge Meats; Mike Biniek of Belle Meade Farm; Local Flavor co-owner Mark Reinhardt; Kevin Kraditor of Hopkins Ordinary; Gadino Cellars owner Bill Gadino; Local Flavor’s Laurie Smith; and Mike Peterson of Sperryville’s Mount Vernon Farm.
