Trial set for charges in teen’s death

A trial date of June 24 was set last week for charges against Charles Edward Climo, 18, of Sperryville, who is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and four other driving- or drinking-related offenses stemming from an accident last October in which 16-year-old Logan McKiernan was fatally injured.

The charges will be heard in Rappahannock County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court as Climo, though now legally an adult, was 17 at the time of the accident.)

In other developments:

• Jonathan Daniel Mihokovich, 30, of Culpeper, was apprehended along U.S. 211 westbound near the Trading Post gun shop by Lt. J.C. Welch at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday (April 25).

He was transported to Culpeper County, where he was wanted on failure-to-appear charges. The Sheriff’s Office said Mihokovich had walked away from a car at Massie’s corner on Saturday, after the car had pulled to the shoulder during an alleged domestic dispute. He had apparently attempted to cut his wrists at the time, they said, and then fled into the woods.

• Lawrence Jason Reid Campbell, 43, of Hume, was charged with possession of marijauana at about 11 p.m. Friday (April 23) after a traffic stop by Deputy Daniel Stevens on Crest Hill Road.
