A note from Steve Norman:
What a perfect day Sunday (April 25) turned out to be for a birthday party. Daniel and Bessie Norman were the guests of honor for the celebration held at the Rappahannock County Park pavilion in Washington. Clear and sunny skies prevailed over the forecasts of rain, hail and thunderstorms.
More than 100 friends and family gathered for the fun, food and bluegrass music. The party was a complete surprise for Daniel, who turned 75. Bessie was in on the secret but was just as thrilled. If you’re ever invited to a bluegrass concert and it’s close to your birthday, be suspicious. Daniel said with misty eyes “a surprise like this is hard for a guy to take.”
Short notice made planning tricky but everyone pitched in and made the party a success.
Cobbler Mountain Grass was a-pickin’ and the audience was a-grinnin’. Feet were tapping and hearts were dancing. If you like bluegrass, these guys jam!
Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the good food.
Daniel, Bessie and family would like to thank all for sharing their unforgettable happy day! We love you all.
I have known Daniel and Bessie for years, and whenever you see them they always have a smile on their faces and thanking the Lord for their blessings each day.
Steve and Kenny Norman and family members arranged the party.
