Traffic stops lead to drug, driving charges

On July 7, Deputy Robert Fincham of the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle on U.S. 211 for defective brake lights. Kathryn Rebecca Teel, 25, of Sperryville, was arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

It was the third traffic stop in two weeks which resulted in charges against Teel. On June 25, Sheriff’s Lt. J.C. Welch stopped Teel and charged her with driving while her driver’s license was revoked. On July 5, Welch again charged Teel with driving with a revoked license.

On July 7, Deputy Angela Deavers charged Bobby Lee Carter II, 27, with assault and battery on a family member.

On July 4, Deputy Fincham arrested and charged Harry Langdon Crane Jr., 50, with public intoxication. Also on July 4, Fincham charged Joshua Clifford Coffey, 20, with possession of alcohol under the age of 21.

On July 2, Deputy Fincham arrested and charged William David Martin, 34, with driving under the influence. On the same date, Lt. Roger Jenkins charged Alyssa Berry, 25, with preventing or interfering with telephone communications.
