Letter: Rappahannock County Park’s new look

Our Rappahannock County Park has been given a much-needed facelift this summer.

The Rappahannock County Park Authority would like to thank the following individuals for donating their time to the cause:
Wayne Woodward and his crew at Quality Tree Service; Steve Critzer for helping with repair work; Sherry Hamil-Huff for donating an ample supply of horseshoes; Holly Lanigan for cleaning up the horseshoe pit; the trustees of the jail and the Sheriff’s Office staff. And a special thanks to Target of Front Royal for donating a gift card to purchase basketballs.

So please come and enjoy your county park! When you do, you will notice that: The trees have been professionally trimmed. The stairs to the Rush River have been reset, and the trail has been cleared. The fitness trail has been restored. The horseshoe pit has been cleaned up. The basketball court will be repaired and relined shortly. Climbing bars will replace the “digger.” A new swing is on order and will be installed soon. We now have recycling containers located at the picnic area.

Jean Lillard,
Rappahannock County Park Authority
