Sheriff’s Report for Sept. 30

The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office responded to more than 250 calls for assistance this past week (through midday Monday), ranging from security checks and suspicious vehicles to reports of theft, fires and accidents.

A deputy responded Sunday (Sept. 26) to a residence in Viewtown whose owners reported the theft of a Stihl BR 400 leaf blower from an outbuilding. An investigation continues, said Sheriff Connie Smith.

For several other cases involving drug and narcotics charges and property damage, Smith said, further information was not available pending further investigation.

There were several vehicle accidents, none with injuries reported. Along with fire and rescue personnel, sheriff’s deputies also responded to six fire calls during the week. –Roger L. Foster
