If you are 19 or older and want to be involved with an organization that promotes hands-on learning, consider becoming a 4-H club leader.
Leaders are needed for the following clubs:
The Mustang Riders’ 4-H Club is for ages 9 to 19. If the 4-H club leader a horse owner, the club could meet at his/her house after school.. But it is not necessary for the club leader to own horses; the club could meet at the Extension office and have guest speakers talk about horses and the club could take trips to various horse farms.
The Community Club is ages 9 to 13. This would be a new club for Rappahannock County. A community club learns about a variety of topics, depending upon the interests of the club members.
Generally, 4-H clubs meet monthly, but can meet more often. 4-H volunteers are trained by the 4-H coordinator and receive insurance benefits through Virginia Tech, and have access to resources provided by Virginia Cooperative Extension.
If you are interested in having fun while working with kids in Rappahannock County, call the Extension office at 540-675-3619.
