All of Rappahannock’s voting district polling places are open today until 7 p.m. for voting in the Republican primary race to choose the party’s candidate for the General Assembly seat in the 18th District, which includes all of Rappahannock, most of Fauquier and parts of Warren and Culpeper counties. The candidates are both first-time campaigners, vying for the seat held by retiring Del. Clifford “Clay” Athey Jr. (in a district later reconfigured to include Rappahannock). They are 31-year-old Marshall cattle and hay farmer Michael Webert and 52-year-old Kevin P. Kelley, a Warrenton resident and president of Falcon Promotions and Print Solutions, a Manassas-based marketing and consulting firm.
