Gid Brown Hollow, referred to by many as “Old Rappahannock,” recently lost an old friend. Many who knew the retired foxhunter Connor, even from a distance, agreed that he exuded equine majesty – a beautiful horse standing serenely atop his hillside, seemingly at ease with the world around him. He was a fixture, a commanding presence enjoyed by so many residents, according to Chris Doxzen, who, like many Hollow walkers over the years, liked to stop by to give him carrots and talk to him. His owner Helen Saulsbury doted on him and was seen grooming him tenderly days before he passed on, Doxzen said, adding: “We shall miss him.”
