At Washington’s Hair Gallery last week, stylist Chandra Graves trims off a sizeable, years-old lock of Jenna Robey’s hair – hair that the Castleton 10-year-old decided to donate to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss (including, especially, those suffering from alopecia areata, a disease affecting hair growth which has no known cause or cure; there’s more information online at locksoflove.org). Jenna’s mom Janet Robey, who said the big decision was “all Jenna’s,” stood by proudly as the deed was done.
