Colin Harris is Democrats’ 18th district candidate

The Democratic committees of Culpeper, Fauquier, Rappahannock and Warren counties canceled their caucus scheduled for this week after just one candidate, Colin Harris, met Saturday’s 5 p.m. filing deadline for the Nov. 5 general election.

Harris has been declared the winner and is thus the Democratic nominee for the 18th district seat in the Virginia House of Delegates, a seat currently held by first-term Republican Michael Webert.

The 18th district consists of part of Culpeper County (the East Fairfax, Eggbornsville, Jeffersonton, Rixeyville and Brandy Station precincts); part of Fauquier County (Opal, Baldwin Ridge, Courthouse, Airlie, Warrenton, Bealeton, Marshall, Leeds, Waterloo, Springs Valley, The Plains and the Broad Run) part of Warren County (Happy Creek, Linden, East Shenandoah and the South River); and all of Rappahannock County.
