The Rappahannock County School Board holds a budget work session at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow (Friday, May 24) in the school board office conference room. This meeting is open to the public.
The following offices are closed Monday (May 27) in observance of Memorial Day: Rappahannock County government offices; Union First Market Bank; BB&T; Virginia Department of Motor Vehicle customer service centers (DMV service are still available at dmvNOW.com); U.S. Postal Service; and the Rappahannock News (where early deadlines are in effect for the May 30 edition; all items for publication should be submitted by 3 p.m. Friday, May 24). Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services transportation will not operate on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.
There being no business to come before the board, the May meeting of the Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals is cancelled.
Services to Abused Families’ (SAFE) volunteer training sessions originally scheduled for June 1-2 and 8-9 have been postponed.
Hearthstone School’s Let’s Make Music Camp is noon to 4 p.m. for ages 6-12 at the school, June 10-14. The Mountain Adventures camp (swimming, hiking, nature studies, games, crafts and outdoor activities) offers three spots: The Day Camp (ages 4-8) is 9 to 3 p.m. June 17-21 and again June 24-28; the Day Camp for ages 8-13 is 9 to 3 p.m. July 8-12; and the Backpacking section (ages 13-17) is July 15-19.
