The undefeated Rappahannock Wolverines, a local U-10 travel soccer team with the Rappahannock County Soccer Association, take a quick break from winning to pose for a team photo. The team consists of six boys and five girls, ages eight to 10 years old; the Wolverines played other U-10 teams in Culpeper, Orange and Madison County this year. “These young kids gave 100-percent at every practice and game,” said head coach J.C. Welch. “They never gave up even when they were down. They fought hard, overcame injuries and all-boy teams that had never lost a game, and always found a way to win. I am very proud of every player.” The team is (back row, from left) coach Welch, Domenic Del Grosso, Nick Barnes, Luke Jung, Pierce Kiser, Alec Petty, Porter Dobslaw and assistant coach Lance Petty; and (front row, from left) Maggie Taylor, Taylor Settle, Jordan Welch, Madison Haines and Ava Gehno.
