Lightning strikes twice

Two Rappahannock County homes were struck by lightning and damaged by ensuing four- to six-alarm fires within an hour of each other by thunderstorms that passed through the region Sunday afternoon (July 21).

In a busy meeting July 17 at the courthouse, the Rappahannock County Planning Commission approved two efficiency apartment permits, two new bed and breakfasts and one cottage industry request.
