Letter: A rainbow of thanks from AVFR

On behalf of the members of Amissville Volunteer Fire & Rescue, I would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who supported our fundraising Carnival 2013 last week. We can’t thank enough those who donated their time and efforts as well as the goods and services which made the carnival a success. We were also fortunate to have had good weather — whatever rain there was occurred each day before the carnival began in the evenings — and bearable temperatures and humidity. It seemed that all the early-evening summer storms apparently went around Rappahannock County.

Perhaps one of the highlights of the carnival was the brilliant double rainbow during the parade on Thursday evening, caused by a light rain which fell and did not disrupt the procession.

Again, thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the carnival, which helps us to provide the top-notch emergency services that our community expects and deserves. We can’t do what we do without you.
