The Rappahannock-Rapidan Medical Reserve Corps holds orientation sessions from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 at the Culpeper Health Department (640 Laurel Lane, Culpeper). The sessions provide free training in emergency response and other specialized topics, as well as exercises to ensure that volunteers are prepared to respond in a safe manner. Services to Abuse Families (SAFE) is hosting a volunteer open house (for ages 16 and older) from 11 to 2 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at SAFE’s offices (501 E. Piedmont St., Culpeper). Community members attending the open house will get the chance to meet with representatives from SAFE to learn more about the assistance needed and how they can make a difference in the fight against domestic and sexual violence in our community.
