Letter: Kisers’ commitment to children

I very much enjoyed reading the article in the July 25 Rappahannock News [“Kiser pledges $25K matching grant for CCLC”] describing John Kiser’s comments and antics both past and present during the community get-together for CCLC. John and Pam Kiser’s support for education within this community is exemplary.

Through their efforts and the financial support of the William and Mary Greve Foundation, many preschool and school-aged children, who would not otherwise have had the opportunity, have been given the chance to learn and grow. This latest offer of a matching grant to the donors and friends of CCLC is yet another example of the Kisers’ generosity and commitment to the education of children.

I wish CCLC all the best as their supporters rally to raise the money to strive for the $25K which the Greve Foundation has offered them with their two-to-one matching grant. The foundation offered a similar grant to Wakefield Country Day School (WCDS) this past year, and the community exceeded all of our expectations by raising almost $100,000 within the six-month period. As the Head of School, I was overjoyed and amazed. I want publicly to thank the Kisers and all of those who helped WCDS reach and exceed its goal of $50,000 and encourage the community to step forward in their efforts to support CCLC as well.
