The Santa Emporium

Both Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to town — or to the Sperryville Emporium just west of town, that is — from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15.

The Emporium’s Jan McKinney reports that kids get a free picture with Santa and the Mrs. and elves, as well as a free gift, while moms and dads can try one of the specials of the day, including a small cup of coffee, tea, hot cider or hot chocolate with a fresh-baked cookie for $1, or 10 percent off sandwiches and soup combos, a slice of cake or a brownie sundae. There are stocking stuffers and last-minute gifts throughout the shop, including many local items and gift baskets. For more, visit sperryville-emporium.biz or call 540-987-8235.

Hunting success

At Greenwood Farm in Old Hollow last weekend, Duane Morey reports that he and his brother-in-law Fred Giles (pictured here) had a successful hunt, with Fred bagging at 10-point buck and Duane an eight-pointer.
