Last year’s first-ever Washington Christmas Tree Bonfire made for an inviting and warm evening. This year’s is now rescheduled for Friday, Jan. 10.
Washington Volunteer Fire & Rescue and the town of Washington decided to postpone tonight’s Christmas Tree Bonfire for a week — until next Friday, Jan. 10 — due to the forecast for ultra-cold temps and continued gusty winds. Too bad, especially considering how ice and snow forced the town to cancel its annual Christmas parade last month. Trying to track down a rumor that there’s a move by some to have Mother Nature elected to the town council.
