The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors meets at 2 p.m. Monday (Feb. 3) in the courthouse. Agenda includes: Voting districts; deputy treasurer recruitment; resolution regarding Attorney General. There is no 7 p.m. meeting.

Tryouts for the Virginia Thunder, a USSSA travel baseball team based out of the Rappahannock area, are 5 to 7 p.m. consecutive Saturdays (Feb. 1 and 8) at the Rappahannock County Auxiliary Gym (34 Schoolhouse Rd., Washington, behind RCES). All players ages 13 to 14 are welcome to attend. Players should wear non-marking gym or tennis shoes and bring all necessary equipment. Piedmont Softball Association is now accepting registrations for all girls born between 1995 and 2008 interested in playing fastpitch softball in 2014. The registration fees are $50 per girl 12 and younger and $55 for older girls ($5 discount for multiple players from same household; full scholarships are available). RAAC’s Claudia Mitchell Arts Fund is now welcoming proposals for grants from Rappahannock artists and organizations. The deadline for this year’s grants is March 15. Details, guidelines and applications are available online at raac.org.

The Rappahannock County High School Class of 1964 is planning its 50-year class reunion. John Anderson, owner of Jessamine Hill Farm, has offered to host the gathering on May 16-17.
