The Rappahannock County High School Panthers’ wrestling squad — (from left) head coach Alex Coffroth with Dakota Woodward, Amrit Tamang, David Smoot, Christian McCracken, Dylan Hitt and J.P. coach Brian Kelly — celebrated a successful trip to the state tournament in Salem last weekend, finishing seventh overall (with only five wrestlers) and walking away with several medals. Senior Dylan Hitt led the way, claiming the state title in his 152-pound weight class (and doing it while hobbled by an ankle severely sprained near the start of his final match). Freshman McCracken posted a state runner-up finish, sophomore Smoot took third place, senior Tamang fourth and freshman Woodward eighth.
