The RAAC Community Theater holds auditions from 5 to 7 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, March 7) and 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday (March 8) for Neil Simon’s comedy, “The Dinner Party.” Three men and three women 40-plus are being sought. The Rappahannock County Garden Club awards the $1,000 Francis J. Leonard Scholarship to a county resident graduating high school and attending a two- or four-year college or trade school. Applicants are required to complete the Common Application for Local Scholarships and two 250-word essays. RCHS students can get an application from the guidance office; others available from guidance counselors or from Judy Segaar (540-937-6644). Applications are due by April 2.

RAAC’s Claudia Mitchell Arts Fund is now welcoming proposals for grants from Rappahannock artists and organizations. The deadline for this year’s grants is March 15. Details, guidelines and applications are available online at raac.org.

Piedmont Softball Association is now accepting registrations for all girls born between 1995 and 2008 interested in playing fastpitch softball in 2014. The registration fees are $50 per girl 12 and younger and $55 for older girls ($5 discount for multiple players from same household; full scholarships are available). The Culpeper Soil & Water Conservation District offers scholarships on culpeperswcd.org for students planning to major in agriculture, environmental science/policy, horticulture or other conservation-related fields.
