Hillside pastures in Castleton on St. Patrick’s Day 2014.
Last night and today’s late-winter storm dumped another six- to 10 inches through Rappahannock County and the Piedmont region. Rappahannock’s schools and county government are closed today; tonight’s scheduled school board/supervisors joint budget hearing is postponed to 7 p.m. Thursday at the high school.

The circuit court session scheduled for today at the courthouse is also cancelled. Another 1 to 3 inches are expected to fall sporadically until about midday. Spring allegedly begins Thursday.
