On April 22, officers from the Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task Force and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious person call at a residence in the Burnt Tree subdivision of Madison County.
Upon their arrival, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from within the residence. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of 1,200 doses of heroin ($48,000-$60,000), one ounce of ecstasy ($1,300) and marijuana.
Five individuals were subsequently arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute: Corey Denise Williams, 36; Michael Eady, 19; Kyle Wesley Murray, 26; and Najee Matteux, 20, all from Burnt Tree Way in Orange. Also arrested was 23-year-old Anissa L. Rose of New Jersey.
All subjects are being held at the Central Virginia Regional Jail awaiting court appearances. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and additional charges are pending.
