Letter: A fantastic Rappahannock Night, thanks to . . .

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who played a part in this year’s “Outer Space Tacky Tourist,” Rappahannock Night at Camp Fantastic. Once again, it was a huge success!

The committee — Sandra Jenkins, Marie Davis, Jan Makela, Jim Blubaugh and Frank Raiter — were invaluable in planning this event. Charlotte Turnmeyer and Sarah Ames offered face painting. The Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Office was there with a snow cone machine and kept the snow cones coming all evening.

Music was provided by The Good, The Bad and the Blues, as well as Ralph Fortune, Edward Reedy and Chuck Rittenour. Howard and Corey Massey were there with a cotton candy machine and kept the cotton candy treats flowing. Katie Baldwin mingled with the crowd, snapping photographs throughout the event. Union First Market Bank underwrote the event.

The many restaurants, individuals and civic clubs who made donations include: Melting Pot, Muskrat Haven, the Country Cafe, Griffin Tavern, the Public House, Washington Baptist Church Sojourners for Christ, the Inn at Little Washington, Rappahannock Lions Club, Persimmon Springs Florist (Donna Brune), Carol Hackley, Dorothy Hackley, Amissville United Methodist Adult Sunday School Class, Jan Makela and AUMW, Donna Oliver, Barbara Saunders, David Compton, Washington Baptist Church and Rappahannock Mini Storage (Jay Miller).

We sincerely appreciate all the donations and many volunteers, too numerous to mention, that volunteer their time to make this event possible. We feel very fortunate to be able to participate in Camp Fantastic each year.
