As promised, Rappahannock County Schools athletic director Jimmy Swindler made out with his third farm animal in as many years last Friday (Oct. 3) — his I’ll-kiss-the-mule vow offered as incentive for the volleyball girls’ Dig Pink fundraiser, which helps the Side-Out Foundation to fight breast cancer.

It worked — at least for the volleyball team’s Dig Pink drive, which Janet Robey says surpassed its $4,000 goal. We’re still not sure how it worked out for the athletic director. Or the mule.
