Members of the Literary Ladies book club show off a few of the three boxes’ worth of new hardcover books they donated recently to the Headwaters Foundation’s READ program, which pairs 16 volunteer reading mentors with students in kindergarten through second grade at Rappahannock County Elementary School (and soon, through third grade). Seated are (from left) Headwaters executive director Jane Bowling-Wilson, READ program director Liz Blubaugh and club member Aleta Gadino, who volunteers as a READ mentor. In back (from left): Barbara Adolfi, Elizabeth Fox, Susan Stoltzman, Denise Chandler, Patty Hardee and Ann Green (missing: Fran Krebser).
