Presidential summit

By Raymond BocRaymond Boc | Rappahannock News

Before a standing-room-only crowd at the Washington Town Hall Sunday (Feb. 15), George Washington (Travis Brown) spoke about his leadership of the Continental Army and led a reenactment of the discussions during the Constitutional Convention. Other founders present were Edmund Randolph (Bob Randolph), then Governor of Virginia; George Mason (John Henry); Alexander Hamilton (Bill Nitze); James Madison (Bruce Fein); and James Otis (Mark Fitzgibbons), the Massachusetts attorney who pioneered Fourth Amendment rights. The audience questioned the dignitaries afterward with some references to current issues, eliciting a few “I told you so’s.”  The event was organized by the Committee for the Republic (Washington, D.C.), in collaboration with the Friends of Liberty.
