Letter: Thank you, visionary volunteers

The wonderful volunteers in the Lions Club are people that loyally contribute their support to help others. In partnership with the Culpeper Lions Club, Rappahannock Lions arranged a visit to our preschool for the second year in a row for a state-of-the-art vision screening. The Child Care and Learning Center appreciates their assistance to bring the Welch Allyn Spot Vision Screener here to screen our program’s children.

This simple test encourages the child to look at a few blinking lights, and “voila,” an instant screening is performed and seven common vision diseases are ruled out. Early detection can quickly help a child with vision problems get the intervention needed before learning disabilities take form. CCLC families and staff are very grateful to the Lions of Rappahannock and Culpeper for their support in helping us keep our children healthy.
