Thanks to a Make It Happen grant, 4-H is offering day trips for 8- to 14-year-olds this summer, including to Splashdown Water Park (June 18 and Aug. 4, $25 per day); 4-H Education Center, Stream Exploration and Swimming, June 23 ($15); 4-H Education Center, Hiking and Swimming, July 21 ($15). To register (at least two weeks in advance), return completed forms to the Extension office (311-J Gay St./PO Box 119, Washington, VA 22747; completed 4-H enrollment packets and paid registration fees are needed for confirmation. Bus transport provided from Rappahannock County Elementary School’s auxiliary gym, where programs begin at 9 a.m. Parents/guardians must pick up their children at the gym each evening at 5 p.m. Participants will need to bring a bag lunch, water, sunscreen, swimsuit/dry clothing, towel and money for snacks (optional). Please leave all electronic devices at home. If rain is forecasted to take place on the day of a trip, the program will be cancelled the day before the event and full refunds will be given.
