Letter: A word (of thanks) from the Biz Link network

Businesses of Rappahannock’s most recent Business Link (Biz Link) Networking Social, hosted by Virginia Chutney Co. on Aileen Road, was another huge success! Fifty-seven (57!) members of our business community, business cards and flyers in hand, came together to enjoy tasty treats from Creekside Bakery (Lucky and Eileen Yilmaz) in Sperryville and Virginia Chutney (Nevill and Clare Turner), and a variety of wines from Little Washington Winery (Carl and Donna Henrickson). As with every event, connections were made, successes applauded, and new businesses recognized.

In addition to the generosity of our hosts and food purveyors, we are grateful to the other sponsors who helped to make this event possible: Antiques at Middle Street (Al and Monica Harris), Baby Bear Day Care and Preschool (Connie Reid), Custom Craft Building (Uwe Rumohr), Flourish Root (Jen Perrot), Full Circle Equine Services (Jana Froeling) and LegalShield (Nita Clewis). If you are interested in being a sponsor in the future, please contact any member of our committee (listed below).

As you can see, this event invites and celebrates Rappahannock’s diverse business community. All members of the business community are encouraged to join Businesses of Rappahannock (BizRapp), to become more involved in the organization, or to sponsor or host a Biz Link event. The next event is planned for the third week of August.

It was our pleasure, at the May event, to welcome our new assistant county administrator, Debbie Keyser, and to introduce her to this diverse group of Rappahannock business professionals (artists, herbalists, builders, attorneys, hairstylists, dog-sitters, graphic artists, winemakers, bakers, Realtors and more).

BizRapp, in cooperation with Rappahannock Media and Wheelock Web Works, will soon launch a new website, Rappahannock.com, complete with business directory and community events calendar. This new effort is meant to celebrate all things Rappahannock. We’re very excited about this new opportunity for Rappahannock and its vibrant business community. Stay tuned!
