The unidentified driver of a late model sedan pulled off the westbound lanes of U.S. 211 just east of Old Hollow Road Sunday afternoon (June 7) because of the smoke coming from the engine compartment. She was out of the car and escaped injury when it burst into flames (inset); the flames and heavy smoke stopped traffic on the highway for almost an hour.
