Court report

On June 2 in Rappahannock County District Court:

  • Timothy Frank Clanagan, 57, of Washington was arraigned on charges of a first-time DWI and possession of a controlled substance. His case is continued to July 21.
  • Samuel David Davies, 58, of Bethesda was arraigned for a first incidence of DWI. His case is continued to Aug. 18.
  • Garfield C. Donald, Jr., 22, of Brooklyn, NY, was arraigned for possession of marijuana. The case is continued to July 21.
  • Destiny Leigh Proudfoot, 18, of Rixeyville was arraigned for a first incidence of DWI. The case is continued to July 7.
  • Devin C. Sherwood, 27, of Washington was arraigned for a second incidence of DWI. His case is continued to July 21.
  • The case of Ashley Dawn Sweeney, 29, of Charlottesville, charged with possession of Schedule I and II drugs, was certified to the grand jury.
  • Umar Sultan Malik, 28, of Jessup, MD, was arraigned for a second incidence of marijuana possession. His case is continued to July 14.

Sheriff’s report

On June 6, Deputy J. Romero pulled over a vehicle that refused to stop for a checking detail. Subsequently the driver, Carolyn Cortney Morrison, 44, of Locust Grove, Va, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

On June 2, Deputy M. Dodson stopped a vehicle on Lee Highway near Route 729. The driver, Dustin Tyler Breeden, 28, of Luray, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

On May 31, Deputy W. Ubben stopped a vehicle on Lee Highway in the area of Ben Venue. The driver, Daniel Webster Ramey, 33, of Sperryville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. On June 3, Ubben stopped a vehicle on Lee Highway in the area of Hillsdale Grocery. The driver, Pamela Denise Lang, 41, of Marshall, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
