Letter: Become a sponsor of September’s Farm Tour & Festival

Once a year, the county opens its doors to visitors from neighboring counties and the Washington area to showcase our open spaces, unique businesses and vibrant agrarian lifestyle. The 2015 Rappahannock County Farm Tour & Festival, scheduled for Sept. 26-27, will feature 30 venues, 10 of which are new to the tour. While the focus is on the venues, many county businesses benefit from the visitors during the tour weekend and for many weekends afterwards.

Tour organizers are working hard to produce an event guidebook of the same quality that was received with such enthusiasm last year. While this is a county-sanctioned event, we receive just $1,500 from the general fund, an amount that doesn’t come close to covering our publicity and printing costs. Therefore, we need your help. To raise funds, we are offering the following donation options:

  • We have been selling just 12 official sponsorships for $250 and only a third are still available. At that level, your business would receive special recognition at the front of the guidebook, plus a full-page guidebook ad.
  • We have just 10 of 20 total major sponsorships available for $125 each, which includes special recognition and a half-page ad in the guidebook.
  • Farm Tour Supporters receive line ads on special pages in the back of the guidebook, with the number of lines of copy reflecting the level of donation: $25 for one line, $40 for two lines, $60 for three lines and $100 for four lines and your company logo.
  • Private donations are key to our fundraising, and any amount is welcome. Last year, almost $500 was raised thanks to $25 checks. Donor names will be listed in the guidebook; we also honor anonymous donation requests.

For more information about sponsorships and supporter ads, please contact me at 540-219-8396 or witsendcody@yahoo.com. Private donation checks, made out to “Treasurer of Rappahannock County,” may be sent to me at 369 Hinsons Ford Rd., Amissville, VA 20106.
