The annual John Lee Silver Bucket Basketball Game was played at Wakefield Country Day School on Saturday, Dec. 26. The game pitted alumni from 2012 and earlier against alumni from after 2012 and current players. The game was tied 5-5 at the end of the first quarter. The young alumni/current players had a 15-13 lead at the half and 31-28 lead at the end of three quarters. An 11-point quarter led the pre-2012 alumni to a victory as they held on to win 39-38.

Brian Shafran led the victors with 17 points and Andrew Smith added 13 points. Michael O’Heir, Daniel Larner and Chris Cooper also scored. The young alumni/current players were led by Chris O’Heir and Daniel Chadduck, who each had nine points. Alex Foster and Sam Lilburn each scored eight points.  Justin Hu and Sterling Colgan also scored in the game.

It was a fun, competitive game that was followed by nice social time. Thanks go out to Emma Clark and the Clark family for organizing and running the event, as well as Tom Shafran and Coach Mark Dick for officiating the game. Coach Mike Costello kept the clock for the game.
