The web has found Rappahannock

A number of new or refurbished websites related to Rappahannock County have appeared on the internet in the last few weeks, and more may be on the way.

Two of the sites were already existing, but have been greatly revamped. Rappahannock.com has been transformed into a business and event site, geared to outsiders interested in visiting our fair County. And RappNews.com has been redesigned to be more modern and responsive.

Several new sites cover a range of issues related to the County. Four of them are fully up and running. RappLand.org has a Facebook feel to it, providing social conversation, free classifieds, and a forum for discussion. RappU.org offers access to a variety of locally-taught learning experiences.

A newsmagazine for the area has been set up at OldRagGazette.com; it provides a range of articles on issues, history, and lifestyle, as well as providing a forum for serious discussion of County matters. And FoothillsForum.org hopes to provide a venue for examining the issues identified in its survey last year.

Still at a fledgling state, RappAtHome.org is set up to act as a virtual village, offering information and discussion related to aging in the County.

Among the more established sites, RLEP.org provides useful information on the local environment, and focuses on current issues such as the Dark Skies initiative. RappahannockLibrary.org continues to provide a wealth of information and resource links, school information is available at RappahannockSchools.us, and County government information can still be found at RappahannockCountyVA.gov.

Did we miss any?  If so, write a letter to the editor and tell us about it.
