The Rapp for March 17

Telephone program reassures shut-ins

Almost one in four Rappahannock residents is 65 or older. Many are isolated in their homes. RappCalls, a new telephone reassurance program for isolated seniors, will be explained on Friday, March 18, at 3 p.m., in the Library. Modeled after similar programs nationwide, topics will include how to volunteer,

how to request services, how seniors and volunteers are paired, and what to do if a participant doesn’t answer. Signup forms for volunteers and participants will be available, along with forms for background checks and confidentially statements. Contact Hal Hunter at 937-4744 or Hal@Rappahannock.com.
