He called himself “Handy Randy.” Randy Gilbert was indeed handy . . . he was a carpenter, plumber, painter, drywall man, locksmith and could have been an accountant. No one kept better records of work done with his bills. Above all, Randy was a very nice, decent man who was always good-humored and a pleasure to be around. Always had a smile on his face. As a result he was much in demand, too. Many of his friends and clients will miss him. Certainly the Kisers will.
Rappahannock needs its Handy Randys. Good people with multiple skills and a good work ethics will always find work here. I urge all those who knew him, and those who didn’t as well, to visit gofundme.com and honor a good man by helping his wife, Teresa, with economic difficulties. Randy didn’t have life insurance and, because of a rare disease, scleroderma, no health insurance.
