The gym is now open

The staff at Mountainside Physical Therapy gathers amid the bicycles, ellipticals, universal-type machines and free weights in the center’s gym — as a reminder that the gym is now open for public use (for those 18 and older) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings, when at least two staff members will be present to help with equipment usage, exercise demonstrations and assessing clients’ needs. (The open gym costs $8 per visit plus a $35 sign-up fee.) For more information on open gym or other programs and classes at MPT (12625 Lee Hwy., just west of Washington), call 540-987-9390 or check with a staff member — who, shown here, include (front row, from left) Kayleigh Flanagan, Ella Miller and Lucy Van Ness; (middle row, from left) Sammi Selvage, Tinker Lyman, Sarah Smith, Anne Williams, Tricia Nicodemus and Laura Good; and (back row) Duane Morey and Shane Benson.
