Have you seen this horse?

HAPPY ENDING: The mare was found this morning (Sunday, Sept. 11).

Missing red roan mareThis red roan mare was last seen near Hackley’s Mill and Rappahannock Lakes in Amissville last weekend; Kimberly Loveless of Gin Lot Farms sent this note on behalf of the owner:

Missing red roan mareThe Extreme Mustang Makeover was recently held at the Lexington Horse Center, an event where formerly wild mustangs and their trainers compete for prize money. The trainers have 100 days to take a wild horse and ready it for competition. After the competition, all horses were available for adoption by the Bureau of Land Management.

One of these horses was adopted to a family in Amissville. Early this week, the horse escaped her pasture and is currently still missing. Searches are ongoing. We are attempting to bring media attention to this situation in hopes of finding this horse safe. Please contact me (ginlotfarms@verizon.net) for further information and details.

She is a red roan mare, with a freeze brand on the left side of her neck. She is probably 950 pounds. She is not wearing a halter or a lead line. Last seen near Hackley’s Mill and Rappahannock Lakes last weekend.

A $1,000 is being offered for her return. If you have information, please contact Doug Seal at 703-928-0300 or Kimberly Loveless at 202-437-6586.
