Richard Cornell, Rappahannock County’s new building inspector, had his first day on the job Tuesday at the county’s Gay Street office. Most recently, Cornell was a building inspector in Warren County, and had spent the previous 10 years in Prince William County in the public school system’s maintenance division.
His family roots, however, are right here in Rappahannock, and Cornell said when the opportunity presented itself to return to the county he jumped at it, pointing out “the scenery here’s a lot prettier.”
