Friends, family and pets celebrate Thanksgiving
Pat Davis of Washington was busy cooking her turkey on Thanksgiving Day. Her house was full of guests who included Chuck and Diane Moore and their daughter, Adrianne of Washington, and Kirk, Pat's son from Madison County, along with a new addition to the family, Fred, a basset hound who is nine weeks old.Along with Fred, there were other pets belonging to the Davis' and their guests including Buck, Daisey, Sophie,(labs who belong to Pat); Fe and Ozzie (pound doggies belonging to Chuck and Diane); and Diesel, the cat. Kirk found Diesel when he was changing the oil in a bulldozer. As he removed the sump pan, three kittens dropped out. Kirk found homes for two of them and kept Diesel, who resides with Pat. They all enjoyed a great meal. Wonder who got the wish bone?
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in Little Washington as folks prepare for the Christmas in Little Washington festivities and parade on Sunday, Dec. 7.
Some of the businesses in town already have decorated their shops.
Gary and Michelle Schwartz of the Heritage House B&B recently returned home from vacationing in the Cayman Islands. Michelle says it was a perfect getaway for some much-needed rest and relaxation.
The Washington Baptist Church will have a children's Christmas play on Sunday, Dec. 21 at 9:45 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
Living Nativity
The Living Nativity will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at the "Red Shed" beside the Rappahannock Library, Washington.
Take a moment from the busy season and experience the joy of Christ's birth, through the living nativity, complete with the Christmas Story and live animals. The Nativity can be seen from Route 211. The Living Nativity is sponsored by the United Methodist Churches of Rappahannock.
Remember the sick
Let's remember Bill Buntin, Mary Jenkins, Sallie Atkins, Claudia Mitchell and Richard Lykes in our prayers each day.
It was so good to see Claudia Mitchell out having lunch with her brother at Griffin Tavern on Tuesday.
Share your blessing
Would you like to give back to the community this Christmas season? You can by helping Rappahannock Senior Center by giving food cards. There are jars out in the community in different areas, every dollar helps, and every amount will go directed to the Rappahannock seniors. There are two new jars, one in the library and the other in the Country Cafe. Remember you can make a difference in someone else's life.
Birthday wishes
Birthday wishes go out to Carrol Beard of Washington. She celebrated her special day on Monday, Dec. 1.
