Police Briefs

Jordan Bacot, 24, of Amissville was attending the Amissville Carnival last week "when he began causing problems," according to Sheriff Connie Compton Smith. She said Bacot left the grounds and was arrested June 29 by Deputy Robbie Fincham. He was charged with drunk in public.

Thomas McFarland, 37, of Washington, was arrested on June 24 by Sheriff Smith. According to the sheriff, McFarland was at Route 211 and Main Street where he was causing a disturbance. He was taken into custody and charged with drunk in public.

Richard Gable of Elverson, Pa., was arrested and charged with DUI (driving under the influence). Gable, 57, was taken into custody June 24 by Deputy Robbie Fincham on Route 211 in the area of the Quickie Mart. Gable was arrested as the result of a traffic stop.
