Religious Notes

Gid Brown Hollow Pentecostal Church will have a hymn sing, first Saturday of each month starting at 11 a.m., under the tent at the church. There will be food, preaching and singing. Bring a covered dish and dessert and drink and enjoy a day in the country. All are welcome.

Macedonia Baptist Church, Flint Hill is celebrating its 143rd anniversary. Church revivals will run from July 16-18 starting at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 16 with Rev. Dr. Donald Reid , pastor of the Mt. Paran Baptist Church, choir and congregation, Linden, Va. On Thursday, July 17 Rev. James L. McCray, Jr., pastor of the Little Zion Baptist Church, choir and congregation, Nokesville, Va., will preach. On Friday, July 18 Rev. Ronald White, pastor of the Williams Chapel C. M. E. Church, choir and congregation, Front Royal will preach. Homecoming is Sunday, July 20 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Donald Simpkins, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church, Flint Hill. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m., in the dining hall. For the 3 p.m. service, Rev. Samuel Barnhart, pastor of the Second Baptist Church, Falls Church, Va., will preach. His church family will accompany him.
