Misty Hitt retires as mail carrier

Congratulations to Misty Hitt, our friend in Woodville, who has served faithfully as Woodville's mail carrier for many years and now has retired. Good luck in the future.

Last Saturday the Cannan Baptist Church of Reva Way held an impressive service to honor its pastor, Rev. Terry Brown, who has served the church for 14 years.

Recuperating

Rosie Wharton of Aaron Mountain Road underwent major surgery in Fairfax Hospital and is now recuperating at Overlook Nursing Home in Warrenton. Mrs. J. A. Berry, following hip surgery in Culpeper Regional Hospital, is recuperating at Autumn Care Nursing Home in Madison and prayers are coveted for her compete recovery. Owen Cubbage has returned home following heart pace-maker surgery in University of Virginia Hospital on Monday.

A reminder to any customers of the Corner Book Shelf in Culpeper: the store will be closing its doors the end of August after 32 years in business.

Anniversary wishes go out to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dodson, who celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary Monday, and Mr. And Mrs. Willie Macfarland, who celebrated their 68th on July 15. Wishes also go out to Dennis and Caroline Masen, David and Debi Thompson, Emerson and Helen Williams and Tom and Mary B. Tharp on their special anniversary day.

Sympathy goes out to the family of Bobby Moore of Castleton and to the family of Maude Taylor of Norman Road upon the passing of her brother, Charlie Perryman, last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Davey Thompson are proud to announce the arrival of their son, David Edmond Thompson, who was born July 14 and the welcome home mat was placed out by his three sisters.

Weekend visitors

Mr. and Mrs. Marc Dodson of Harrisonburg were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Dodson of Salem Way.

Elder and Mrs. C. W. Richards of Orange were Sunday luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bretzin, especially to help celebrate the birthdays of Mrs. Bretzin and son Joseph.

Belated birthday wishes go out to Bess Aylor who celebrated her day on July 18, Liz Logas on July 17 and Van Logas on July 21. May each of you enjoy many more.
