Obituary

Henry R. Woodward, Sr.

Died May 23, 2008

Family in Rappahannock

Henry Ross Woodward, Sr. ,79, died on May 23 at his residence.

Mr. Woodward was born July 26, 1928 in Madison to the late Charlie Sherman Woodward and Lucy Della Alger Woodward.

He was a former employee of W. J. Carpenter in Brightwood and attended Sunnybrook Gospel Chapel.

Mr. Woodward is survived by his wife, Alma Mildred Meadows Woodward of Criglersville, one daughter, Nancy Woodward Ness and husband, George of Orange; one son, Henry Ross Woodward, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Rappahannock.

Additional survivors include three sisters, Virginia Pearl Smith of Orange; Carrie Belle Richards and Lois Marie O'Dell both of Banco; two grandchildren and one step-grandson, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Dale Woodward and Barbara Elizabeth Woodward, two sons, Dean Warren Woodward and Dennis Owens Woodward; five brothers, Bud Floyd, Charlie Davis, John Baker, George William and Belvin Lewis Woodward and one sister, Lucy Elizabeth Weakley.

A funeral service was held on May 25 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, conducted by Pastor Grayson Delano and Pastor Jason Woodward. Interment followed in Etlan Cemetery .
