Obituary

Roger L. Rutherford

Died May 24, 2008

Sperryville resident

Roger Lee Rutherford, 58, of Sperryville, died Saturday, May 24, at Culpeper Regional Hospital.

He was born on May 5, 1950 in Sperryville to the late Charles William Rutherford and Mamie Susan Jenkins Rutherford.

He loved gospel music and played in his own band.

Mr. Rutherford is survived by three brothers, James William Rutherford of Castleton, Robert Jackson Rutherford of Reva and Marshall Rutherford, Sr., of Winchester.

Additional survivors are numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend Richard (Buddy) and Shirley Brown and their granddaughter.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Elmer Peyton Rutherford and sister Ethel Mamie Rutherford Jenkins.

A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30, in the Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Bobby Jenkins officiating.

Interment followed at Sperryville Cemetery.
