Walter Alexander Craig Jr., 73, of Viewtown, husband of Deborah Renfroe Craig and son of Sigrid Nelson Craig and Walter Alexander Craig Sr., died June 12 after a long battle with kidney failure.
Mr. Craig was born May 20, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., where he excelled in high school track and academia. He graduated from Penn Charter and attended the University of Pennsylvania, his mother's alma mater.
He was an executive at JCPenney in Pennsylvania and moved to California to become president of the Interstate Department Stores, TOPPS North America division, at the age of 38. He later went on to be a consultant for Gordon Brothers of New York.
In 1995, he and his wife, Deborah, moved to Viewtown, where they opened Lantern Lane Farm, an equestrian bed and breakfast.
Along with his wife, Walter is survived by daughters Joanne, Deborah, Dyanne and Christine and son James. He also leaves eight grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at Lantern Lane Farm, 16 Lantern Lane, Viewtown, at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 19.
